I was working the midnight release for it at my job and had a chance to play the actual game for a bit. It was fun, camera was a bit frustrating but I didn't let it bug me too much....most definately a rental title as a first impression. I'll pick the game up this friday and will give a more detailed review if anyone likes...or if someone plays it before me by all means share your thoughts!

I was really looking forward to this game but a gaming magazine I subscribe to gave it a C, one was for the camera angles you mentioned and the other mentioned that everytime you get a new force power the enemies in the level have a counter for it.

yeah i works at the gamestop, i'll bitch and rant about that later though lol (yes its true game stop employees suck, with the except of a few like me =D) and yeah i saw a review on X-play just last night they gave it a 2 out of 5, guess its not owning up to the hype, but it felt like a decent game to me no less...it was star wars after all so i mean any chance to weild a lightersaber and the force is always gonna be worth atleast a rental to me.

I shopped at Game Stop before, I went to one in New Hampshire, they had a good selection of movies and games, I browsed through the dvds and picked up some Anime dvds cheap, the one Game Stop in Port Charlotte... is small... I got conned into a membership and magazine subscription... so they took advantage of me they didnt tell me anything and I signed up for a magazine and never got it. Its been at least a few years... Game Stop is good cause I can buy games, but it sucks that all the ps2 games will become as worthless as Sega Saturn games... I got so many I cant trade in for cash... I would use E-Starland but they suck!

Alright so i've just beaten the game, and I gotta say it wasn't all that bad. Yes I would have preferred it if they had taken a bit more time to polish it up but the end result is a slightly passable game in my opinon. It's flawed in alot of ways but for any true die hard star wars fan it's an decent experience and helps tie in the events of epside III and IV, while still leaving plenty of room for more storylines within that time frame. As for what made this game seem flawed I could point out a number of issues. It's way too glitched for it's own good for starters, i mean I can't begin to tell you how many glitches I've ran into....I understand a rancor is a beast of a creature and incredible strong but I don't think he's so powerful that it could smack you through to floor where you endlessly float into an abyss...followed by after images of yourself I might add. At one point I got smacked between two objects and a wall and was stuck forcing me to restart at the check point. For the many things done wrong about this game(ie. bad camera, glitches, retarded or unrelenting AI,delayed reactions, etc etc) it has a few good quirks to it. The gameplay is pretty decent and challenging, your bound to die a few times before you beat this game, and it only made me want to keep trying to get past my obstacle. The fighting is solid in my opinion slashing away in stylish combos in this game should appeal to those looking for a devil may cry almost experience(but with lightsabers). The enemies vary requiring you to switch up your style of killing from time to time, and at times i did feel like a downright badass with the force. The items and collectibles in the game give enough to offer for you collect-aholics and scavenger hunters, and the customization options while almost limited and undoubtly able to fill most if not all by the end of the game does offer a sense of "build your own jedi/sith(whatever your into)" The camera is very out of whack at first but a simple adjustment in the options menu made me a bit more comfortable with it. The story is pretty good and in a way what you would expect out of a star wars story. The battles with other lightsaber wielding individuals can be either annoying or fun depending on how well you play and the person you are fighting, at times I did find myself using the same few moves over and over again, when I did remember the assortment of combos and force powers I acquired it did help to making my fights if not easier, feel more diverse. The button layout feels at times a bit funny, you want to ask yourself if these buttons work well together where they are but you can't quite figure out a better set up, or at least I didn't take the time to really think about it..in the end the buttons work out just well enough for you to get the job done.
So all in all, not a great game by any means but a decent game to rent if your a star wars fan, or just want something to do while you wait for other titles to come out (can anyone say Fable II?) So hmm I think i'd give it like an average rating, but just barely. It's a short game which is perfect, since you deal with the annoyances just long enough to beat it =D

Thanks for the review. I think I'm going to pass; I played the demo and wasn't that impressed and nothing in the reviews I've read redeem it from that.
Fable II is on my list of pre-orders this year.

im sorry, maybe im biased to the whole hack and slash genre, but i loved this game. i mean you yank a guy in the air shoot lightning at him then throw him at his buddies where he then explodes and kills them all. just saying. well i've heard a lot of references between god oif war and this game, and i love god of war ( go check out my myspace), so like i said maybe i biased.

Fable 1 had the super hype that fell short, but it was still a SICK game that had good play value. I hope fable 2 expands on it a heck of a lot. I haven't gotten a chance to read the reviews yet.

if you want a Hack and Slash game... that will entertain you but eventually dull out... Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors... I played Dynasty Warriors 4-5 Empires... (Dynasty Warriors 6 cut out some of the best characters) Samurai Warriors,Samurai Warriors XL,Samurai Warriors 2 Empires.... Kotoro Fuuma... The Gumby Ninja... Koei released games for Gundam... and Warriors Orochi (Combination of Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors) sick dont you think?

Well the games tend to repeat themselves... Dynasty Warriors 5 was simple... you could launce fire balls and iceballs from your weapon. Samurai Warriors 1 was good cause you could make your own character, and it had two endings... but still sucked cause the edit warrior mode had a training thing, where you had to choose a clan when the time came and complete their trials... if you dont then you start all over again. Now I dont know much about Dynasty Warriors 6, except its on the PS3 and it follows a different storyline and the characters have different weapons... but they still cut out some... I think about 9 characters... now Samurai Warriors 2 Empires... dont get me started on that trash heap... the edit warrior had 12 male models and 3 female models... the male had Fiery,Heroic, and Goofy for voices (Goofy was a understatement..) the goofy voice is like "Stand still! You scoundrel!" the females had Mature,Lively and Young... Young was what is says... a childs voice... imagine giving a ninja a voice of a 6 year old girl...

LOL! I guess it depends on the version eh? Its like rocky 1 through rocky 50. I don't mind games like that, but they have to keep my limited attention span on focus :-P

When one of the games reached Xtreme Legends... Oh god it was boring! Without the first game, it was really short... nothing good to play... Dynasty Warriors 5 Xtreme Legends was the first game to add Destiny Mode (Which was completely pointless) to level your character up to near maximum... the things you learned in the Destiny mode meant nothing in the game... you unlock 15 armor for both male and Female... the voices are fine... but that feature was added too late...

Every game has their ups and downs. Frankly, I like older games with bad graphics but way better replay value ad base play value. Want an example? Check out legacy of the wizard for the nintendo. 5 characters to play with slight differences, a dungeon of astronomical size, a real quest, and boss fights. It was a side and vertical scrolling action adventure with some rpg elements. It took me a year to beat it, with my brothers help when I was still around 9 yrs old. And I am a gamer... 9 simply means I had more time to dedicate. Even a game like viewtiful joe is better, because its just a FUN platform beat em up. Its more fun that what you describe.

I played many games for the older systems, I played so many on the Nintendo, from the Super Mario Bros games to Duck Hunt (Made it to a high level before losing, I think level 23) I played Excite Bike and that other game that had the running pad, I played alot of games for the Genesis, alot of games for the Playsation,Alot of games for Sega Saturn,Sega Dreamcast, alot of games for the Playstation 2 and dropped there... given my bad track record with games... today I got sick of Crash Team Racing and broke it tossing it out. It did get annoying, the same characters getting into second and third each time. I played a few The Simpsons games, The Simpsons Wrestling being one of the worst! The Simpsons Road Rage was the Easiest! The Simpsons Hit and Run had some good challenge to it! The Simpsons Game was just stupid, I put very little effort into playing it, sure some of the levels had challenge but it took me more than 30 hours to beat Hit and Run, it took me less than 15 hours to beat The Simpsons Game... well didnt beat it... got sick of trying to do 7 rounds of Dance Dance Revolution... besides saw the ending to it via youtube and a code in the game...

Its all about the classics man! Wizards and warriors, mega man, contra, Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Sonic... the games that defined the console systems! Then of course you have the stand alones, like legacy of the wizard, and the epics... final fantasy, dragon quest... Give me the old games and systems any day of the week. You want a challenge, barts nightmare was the best simpson game... or was it the space mutants? I can never keep em straight. Simpsons arcade was just a way to steal money from little kids lol. But you remember golden axe? Gauntlet? How about original D&D multiplayer arcade game? GOOD STUFF!

I played Mega Man 1-5 on the Nintendo and beat them, I beat the game boy version of Mega Man 1. I beat Legend of Zelda, didnt play Legend of Link much... I played Metroid 2 on the game boy. Barts Nightmare was the hardest game in The Simpsons games, I beat all the levels except Temple of Maggie... Space Mutants was pointlessy hard at the 3 level... I remember Gauntlet, I have it on a treasury game for the PS2, I kept going... but there was no end, I played Bubble Bobble on the Nintendo made it to level 25... played Super Mario Kart on the Super Nintendo, loved that. I played one of the Dragon Quest games, I played Secret of Mana (Nearly beat it) I played alot of games over the years, the one Dungeons and Dragons game I remember was Eye of the Beholder for the SNES... I loved playing Doom and Doom 2 for the PC... never played it on a console... mainly cause it sucked... I never got to play Nintendo 64, cause by then I was either a Playstation fan or a Sega Saturn fan.

I remember Adventures of Bayou Billy... the first game I saw that looked like it had nudity... I also remember Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure for the NES along with the Three Stooges... for the SNES I remember Zombies Ate My Neighbors, made it to level 32 I think it was... or maybe 35... it was where one human was in a room with a zombie and you had to kill it before he got to the human...

Yea less expensive and had alittle more fun, the newer games... Crash Bandicoot for the Playstation.... it was good, it had challenges, as soon as it went to another company and to the ps2, it began to suck... the controls were awful, the loading times were horrid. I miss the old games, though with cartradges, you had to clean them now and then. I remember with Sim City for the SNES... I started a town, which grew into a city, I was doing really good balancing the budget but then the memory went... with the Sega Saturn, the memory card and backup ram would both stop working, and you had to use a watch battery for memory... I dont know how many times I beat Dragon Force... before the battery died out on me...

I cant even count how many systems I broke, I bought alot of controllers for each system too. I am on my third PS2, I have roms on my computer, that is how I beat Mega Man games, I did pretty good, I have Mega Man X4 for the Sega Saturn. I have Night Warriors too, even though I dont have a Sega Saturn some of the games are worth something now. Shining of the Holy Ark was worth $79 at E-Starland and Guardian Heroes was $85

Never got more than the normal 2 controllers and never replaced a system in my life. I do have a second ps2, but only cause I found it sitting abandoned in a laundry basket in my storage unit and no one claimed it. Free equipment for the win!

I had the bulky PS2 first then it went, I got another, that met an end due to a fit... and now I am on my third, and trying to take good care of it. Although it scratched one of my dvds... did a scuff on it anyway and now I gotta find cleaner for it.

My brother got the gamecube for free.. he won it in a contest... I am a Sony fan still, despite them having some problems, I mean they are releasing Blood Plus... it hasnt gotten past 2 volumes yet and 1 set ($89 set) with 25 episodes. I cant wait to watch that one. but onto topic again, I do remember playing Raiden Trad on the SNES, it was fun.
