I played it a couple of times, I believe you need to just buy one of the boxes of contents with the characters, board, game cards, etc and a good storyteller!

The games are too advanced for me... I played a Dungeons and Dragons game before, it was called Eye of the Beholder...

The Xbox game is nothing like the card game, its two completely different things. There is an online version of MTG where you actually pay money to open up online booster packs of 15 cards and boxes of 60 online cards etc for your virtual library. That is like the game.

ok what you need are several types of dice, a d20, d12, d10, d%, d8, d6, d4 and player hand book, you really dont need figures just a dry erase board which is much cheaper. who ever is your dm should have everything else you need to play.

Nothing like a good DM in a good d&d game. I have run numerous campaigns and played in many too. If you need anything let me know. I have most of the 3.0 and 3.5 stuff on my pc in adobe files.

D&D has had many games made, including the pool of radiance trilogy, krynn trilogy and.. forgot the 2rd. Also hillsfar. Neverwinter nights is the best online and offline virtual d&d game so far made, but its a bit too easy. Still, if done right its a lot of fun. Havent seen d&d online.
To play tabletop d&d as a player, you need friends to play with, someone to run the game, and have read and have handy a players handbook and have 1 of each of the 6 dice, 7 preferred.

I hear that. I used to hit up Devry for similar reasons. But d&d geeks are a fun crowd. Gamers are the best socialites with each other in my opinion. There is more to do than hit the bars and clubs, get drunk and laid. There's games, baby!
