got the game yesturday and im about halfway through it with 4 hours of play time. pretty good game, only complaint i have so far is the fact that ammo is pretty scarce, but then there are areas where you cant melee the enemies, so if you are low on ammo you will die. and the worst part about that is you have no idea where those areas are until you are being pulled into the things hole. i dont see any multiplayer, and the single player doesnt have much to induce me to play through it again. so i would definatly say its a good solid weekend rental.

This game is clearly intended to be the spiritual successor of System Shock 2. I think it pulls it off in a number of ways but falls flat in others. The worst thing about it is the amount of scripted encounters actually drives down the horror impact in my opinion because it's like running through a fun house.
Part of the scare factor with System Shock 2 was the fact that all the enemies would random spawn and generally patrol around very menacingly to be run into as you turned a corner of an area you thought was clear.

the enemys were for the most part random spawned. there were a few areas where it gave a warning but usually then it was a crapload of enemies and you were trapped in the room until you killed each one.

finished it last night. good story line, the ending made it seem possible for a sequel, or not. it just really leaves you guessing. i would not mind a sequel, i thought how they took the whole headshot-only zombie mentality and made so that if you did shoot them in the head they went beserk on you. to kill them and conserve ammo you have chop off their arms. and if you happened to let any of the bosses get close then you were treated to a grisly cinematic of your death. that was pretty cool.
