Your wiring looks pretty clean, not sure how but mine goes from neat and straight to a cobweb like look. But you might want to keep your consoles off the carpet, static isn't your friend. >_<

Never had a run in with static, but it's better safe than sorry. I have been electrocuted a few times in my life though...

Game systems just need good ventilation. Laptops on the other hand tend to get hotter with age. Not to mention a lot of older laptops were hot by design thanks to their chipsets.

I dont have it anymore... all I remember was it was $900 I bought it at Circuit City, 3 months into owning it, it did error checking every time I started up... the battery lasted 5 minutes and not 15 minutes... and I think the processor was Athlon.. I mean it the battery went dead in under 5 minutes when I was doing nothing...

Sounds about right then. They've gotten a lot better, and weren't bad as long as they got a good amount of air flowing. My ex had one of them, and it was hot as hell. She had to keep it on a flat hard surface, otherwise it would slightly burn her skin.

I had a old metal school desk, I even had a fan blowing on it, woo... it did suck... it worked for awhile, I took real good care of it, then after the third month, all the problems started and I began losing patience with it...

The newer laptops have much better airflow design than before. Sadly, laptops have a shorter life due to the amount of heat output in such a confined space. Helps to have your fans all set to high speed. (There are programs out there for setting that, like on Dell laptops)

dont remind me of Dell... that one cost me alot... custom made but didnt get what I paid for... Had low and not high memory... it had a dvd rom drive instead of a burner... it weighed about 25 lbs... it felt like.. it was extremely flammable... thats how you tell you got a crappy deal..

I was using mine as a stepping stool... like my old Xbox... that didnt work anymore... but my Dell.. as soon as that touch fire.. it was gone in seconds... nothing was left... there was no metal parts in it.. cause nothing was left not even a trace.. except the metal pad over keyboard...
